One of the works made during the artist residency in Salzburg, Untersberg Daily, is a result of collecting the daily view from my atelier window, opening towards the Untersberg. Observations were photographed and written for three months each and every morning. The mountain became an immediate weather report, giving a start and colour for the day, and unfolding in other works and doings. Similar to the headlines in the newspaper, I challenged myself to come up with a textual miniature every day. Untersberg also inspired me to start working on the slow time perception of stones in connection to human sense of time. In 1992, on a visit to Austria, Dalai Lama called Untersberg “the sleeping dragon” and “the heart chakra of Europe”.
