The catalogue of forms is endless: until every shape has found its city, new cities will continue to born. When the forms exhaust their variety and come apart, the end of cities begins.
– Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities
Cartographical love story with the city where the market noises, drying bedlinen and construction works fit together perfectly on the palm. Possibility to be guided by the wrinkles of the palm becomes an alternative layer of the city. Those drawn maps are a sensory exploration of the real, imaginary, audible and visible aspects of the city. A personal experience of walking the Belgrade, The Hague, Salzburg (or a future city) as the human body – growing a city out of the palm or stretching it over the urban landscape. The hand is often the first contact with the things that surround us, a place for ordinary and special events, like the city itself. Ongoing series of works in personal urban research, a phenomenological study on walking the city as a human body.
